Today we’re in for quite the surprise! Jason Deford, aka Jelly Roll, is known as a rapper with many credits and collaborations over the last ten years. Now he is breaking out as a clean singing sensation, and I had to check out to see what the buzz was about!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Jelly Roll for the first time, performing “Save Me”.

  1. Your interest and just true passion for vocalists are breathtaking to watch ! Congratulations to the family on the new bundle of joy ! Life is beautiful!

  2. Not ever been through what this man been through, but this song just HITS me at the core… not many songs ever pull that off.. they put you in the singers shoes.. JUST like Hurt, as you said. I love that he doesn't play games .. He adds color to his voice.. but he isn't doing runs or anything.. He's just hitting it with the basics…

  3. You gave me so much more to think about, I always thought I was a vocalist…
but now I'm focused on my OO's, Ah's and Ee's… and many more
Thank you. Seems somebody saved me, me from my self

  4. I remember finding this mixtape of these two southern rappers, Business as Usual with Haystak and Jelly Roll. Listening back to Independent Legend is prophetic.

  5. The Charismatic Voice your reaction makes this video awesome….love it! I mean Jelly Roll "Save Me" has been on my playlist list for at least a year now. He totally killed this song.

  6. I'm a rocker so hadn't really heard of this dude until recently; heard Dead Man Walking on rock radio and thought it was really good, so started digging. This dude's country and rap are both good, I love this song. Such crazy emotion.

  7. Roll is the best his lyric’s are him putting himself out here to share that depression is real ! Lot’s of us suffer every day Jelly just let’s us know we’re not alone. He’s fantastic wish I could meet him been listening to him for about 5 years now he’s helped me get though some hard day’s . You might like to check out his big hit song Son of a sinner , it’s really good 👍

  8. @The Charismatic Voice I would love to see you react to Tom Macdonald. Any of his songs. If you want to start where he got his break start with "Dear Rappers". His music is mostly rap but he also has some other genre music mixed in and some spoken word. One of his best "singing" songs I think would be "Ashes".

  9. I can't express this enough: Jelly is a bona-fide true artist, in every sense of the word. He's a genuinely happy, kind and expressively thankful person, and his journey has been a thrill to watch. He radiates good energy and he's incredibly intelligent. He's come a long way from where he was 10 years ago. That's admirable.
