  1. Sixth Sense just seems like it has a lot of clips of songs I heard growing up. What seems most obvious is "Hot Stuff" by Pussycat Dolls during the chorus

  2. I'm pretty sure that "Come in" in EXO's Overdose is just the producer tag of Tha Aristocrats. They also produced Pyramid and Butterfly by P1Harmony, and Memory and RPM by SF9. Great video though!

  3. one of my favorites is shinee’s don’t call me! they sampled brenton wood’s “gimme little sign” in the intro to the song, the “if you don’t” and then throughout the song, the “don’t” is sampled and used as a beat instead. i love shinee and i grew up listening to brenton wood, so this made me super happy lol

  4. Vavs Senorita is a cover of a German song with the same name by kay one and pietro Lombardi. It was aa huge hit here and it's very weird for me that there's a kpop version of it.

  5. In Shinee's "Why So Serious" there is a part where Taemin sings some lines in a way that sounds like Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me". The part that goes "love you like a bomb baby come on get it on"

  6. A fun fact from the 1st gen : The opening notes of Fin.K.L.'s iconic "Eternal Love" sample a The Carpenters song, and some reverse sampling : Rage In The Machine's Sleep Now In The Fire has Uhm Junghwa's Poison playing on transmitter radio at the very end!

  7. K-pop samples Western music by default. So the title is an oxymoron. Its not a genre of music. It's foreign music sung in Korean. "K-pop" is just a colloquialism for the music industry there.

  8. i don't know if it's an intentional reference or what because it ends up in a different place at the end of the melodic line, but Super Junior's "Don't Don" chorus really gives me Madonna "Get into the Groove" vibes.

  9. Interesting timing, as just in the few weeks, TWO kpop songs have been released that use the same sample. Mamadol's WooAh Hip and APink's Dilemma both use the same sample from KSHMR – My Best Life.

  10. Yes! Love this, I like playing spot the sample in songs. This is a big help, especially when I can hear it but can’t place the original, like the SNSD song, that bugged me for ages!!
